Community Home Partners Unveils $12M Renovation Of Two Rivers Point

At a news event today, Rock Island-based Community Home Partners unveiled its multi-million-dollar renovation of Two Rivers Point, an 11-story apartment building located at 3130 Ninth Street in Rock Island.  Along with Mayor Mike Thoms and other Rock Island city officials, the Community Home Partners Board of Directors, CHP executive leadership, CHP property management team, CHP community and business partners, Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce officials, as well as many Two Rivers Point residents were on hand to celebrate the total modernization of the nearly 50-year-old, 141-unit apartment building.

According to Susan Anderson, CEO of Community Home Partners: "We have been actively renovating and replacing our properties since 2005.  Community Home Partners is committed to building new communities based on transition and hope.  The renovation of Two Rivers Point is only the latest milestone on our journey to provide more housing options to the people of Rock Island, creating ‘communities of choice’ that are a source of pride to those who call it home.”

As part of the Two Rivers Point remodel, every one of the studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments received a complete “makeover.”  This includes new flooring, baseboards and paint.  All kitchens were renovated to provide improved functionality with new countertops and cabinets.  New appliances were installed, including Energy Star stoves, refrigerators and microwave ovens.  Bathroom tubs, sinks and vanities were replaced, and lower towel racks added along with accessible handles on cabinet doors and drawers.  Exterior improvements include tuckpointing and sealing the brickwork, new landscaping, updated signage and a new patio with sidewalks outside the community room.  In addition, new roofing was added; the boiler system replaced; and, other cosmetic improvements made, including parking area repairs and re-striping where appropriate.

The Two Rivers Point development team included: CHP, Russell Construction, developer SE Clark & Associates of Peoria and architect Tyson & Billy of Rockford.  Funding partners for the project include: Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), Alliant Asset Management Company, Rock Island Housing Authority and Prudential Asset Resources.
