Earlier this week, Habitat Restore volunteers and staff joined Rock Island Housing Authority maintenance staff with the harvesting of appliances. Habitat took 10 refrigerators and 11 stoves – over half of which have already found good homes. The RIHA team took three refrigerators, one furnace and one water heater.
Lincoln Homes served the citizens of Rock Island for 63 years and has reached the end of its useful life. The 37-unit row style project is scheduled for demolition in mid-to-late October and will be replaced with 46 brand new duplexes and single-family homes in the spring of 2020.
