For 63 years, Lincoln Homes has provided a home for thousands of Rock Island families. Now, in the last few weeks before its demolition, the property continues to provide value to the neighborhood and the community it has served for so many generations. Over the past several months, Lincoln Homes has been the site for Rock Island Police to practice SWAT training and the Rock Island and Arsenal Fire Departments to practice dozens of firefighting and rescue maneuvers.
More recently, Habitat for Humanity Restore harvested over a dozen appliances that will serve residents across the Quad Cities for years to come.
Lincoln Homes is scheduled for demolition in mid-to-late October.
