Revitalizing Rock Island, One Household At A Time

Revitalizing Rock Island, One Household At A Time

Improving the quality of life and livability through community-based projects is what’s called neighborhood revitalization.

At Community Home Partners (CHP), we are dedicated to the revitalization of Rock Island neighborhoods. The revitalization process encourages housing success, supports economic development and helps household residents to succeed in their ambitions. When they succeed, they move closer to someday owning their own homes.

Neighborhood revitalization also helps to ensure an adequate supply of high-quality housing, which, in turn, has a positive effect on business investment and growth in Rock Island. We are all in this together, and when people work together to build a successful community, we all win.

We offer the Rock Island community a spectrum of housing opportunities. Rental choices through CHP range from one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom townhomes, apartments, duplexes, and single-family homes. Many homes include attached two-car garages and landscaped front and back yards. Current CHP properties include:

More Than Housing

While the properties are a major factor in building a better future, we offer more than just housing options for the Rock Island community. Neighborhood revitalization works to fortify the lives of the people living here.

A major benefit we offer to CHP residents is THRIVE, a voluntary five-year program that provides a pathway for individuals who want to improve their quality of life and/or economic situation through personal development and growth. THRIVE provides career and financial guidance and is available to anyone who lives in a CHP rental home or apartment, or who participates in a CHP rental assistance program. The program’s guides, Gale Riggins and Ann Ring, work with a variety of community businesses and organizations to offer social services and resources to program participants.
Based on their needs, participants are matched with available resources to achieve their goals. Together, Riggins and Ring help THRIVE participants to meet their educational and career training objectives. The guides can also offer guidance to help participants to stay within their budgets and prepare for the long-term plan of owning a home.

Services Throughout The Community

We are all in this together, and so a variety of households can be found among CHP’s many residents. Examples include a single person starting a new life; a young family establishing roots; a veteran; a family with a member with special needs or disability; or an older adult wanting to downsize. Our residents have the option to receive guidance and benefits that allow them to live within their means.

We believe that revitalizing the community creates collaborative alliances. We partner with businesses and organizations throughout the community, who  offer a wide range of services to the Quad Cities community, our residents and THRIVE members. As a result, all participants benefit from healthy interaction between CHP and all of its partnerships.

Many of our partner businesses and organizations are health-oriented, but the scope of our partners extends in many other directions, too – all selected to make life easier and more convenient for our community members. Need transportation help? Have a senior in your household who requires assistance? Want to check out some employment services? Our partners can help with those needs, and many others, too.

“It truly takes a community to serve the community and meet its needs,” Riggins said. “The high caliber of the organizations we collaborate with, through CHP and THRIVE, far exceeds those expectations. We are proud to work with them.”

“There is tremendous satisfaction in knowing that our efforts are helping to establish households and guide them to more prosperous futures,” said Susan Anderson, CEO of Community Home Partners. “We look forward to seeing what the future holds as our programs expand.”
