Transforming Your House To A Home

At Community Home Partners, we want your place to feel like your space.

We believe that homes are an extension of who you are and that your home affects your mood, productivity and even influences your outlook on life. That’s why we’re committed to pursuing new and creative ways to meet the changing housing needs. So, once you’ve decided to partner with us, try these five tricks to turn your new house into a home.

Make your bed.

It may seem like a struggle at first but making your bed can instantly transform your bedroom into a polished and presentable area. Try adding some throw pillows for a pop of color, drape a cozy blanket over your bed and light that pumpkin spice candle - you’ll feel like you’re in your own little piece of paradise.

Display sentimental items around your home.

Surround yourself with the things that make you happy, whether that’s pictures of friends and family, sentimental items or just inspirational quotes to give you a little extra motivation, your home should reflect who you are and what you value.

Focus on everyday chores.

Make it a point to do at least one chore a day. Whether it’s taking out the trash, vacuuming or doing the dishes, keeping up on your responsibilities eliminates speed cleaning before a guest comes over and allows you to be productive, even on days where you’d rather lay in bed and do nothing.

Utilize organizational tools.

Looking for your favorite black T-shirt, but can’t seem to find it? Utilizing organizational tools within your home, like bins, cubbies, drawers, and baskets all help to hide clutter and break down your belongings into individual categories. Say goodbye to the days of guessing, or tearing apart your home, to find that misplaced item. Pro tip: label each basket or bin so that you know exactly what’s inside.

Cleanout unwanted items.

We know that decluttering isn’t always the easiest but taking the time to evaluate your inventory can relieve stress, increase focus and create peace of mind. Evaluate what you absolutely need and what you can do without. When you allow yourself to declutter, you’re opening your space to what matters the most to you, which in turn will affect your mood, productivity and outlook on life.

Your home is your sanctuary and at Community Home Partners we want to provide our residents with the opportunity to improve their quality of life, increase their earned income, and, if desired, the opportunity to pursue homeownership. Focusing on several of the steps listed above can help to truly transform your house into a home.
